Welcome to Cubs' blog...
Friday 27th July
Sorry for the delay in updating our blog, we have had a few technical issues! We have had a busy few months in our room and we have been enjoying all the lovely sunshine too!
We have also been having fun with Chloe in our room, she has come from Teddybear room and will be here up until her maternity leave.
We have been having lots of fun doing so many different activities. Recently the babies love exploring squirty cream play, they loved the taste too!!
We have been enjoying lots of outdoor play too! Another current favourite in our room has been animals, in particular, reading our 'Dear Zoo' book both 1:1 and during circle time. We have made a lovely wall display based on the book and the babies had so much fun painting and glueing and sticking the animals. This has been a brilliant talking point both whilst making the animals and also with the wall display being up.
There are some lovely photos below showing all the fun things and activities we have been up to recently!
Have a lovely weekend!

Monday 23rd April 2018
We have been enjoying lots of lovely weather the last week! The children have been enjoying water play, exploring our garden and our usual activities too (sand, gloop, play-doh, singing, stories, puppets etc.).
The next few weeks we will be updating our wall displays and we are following a "Bugs" theme, we will be using our insect/bugs flash cards and story books during circle time as well as looking for different bugs in the garden and painting and creating different bugs/insects too. We will also use our insects/bugs figures too; hiding them in the sand, washing them in the water and lots of other activities too. This is brilliant for developing language and speaking skills whilst also encouraging the babies to explore and engage in different activities too. If you have any suggestions for other activities we could use during our "bugs" them then please feel free to suggest them.
We have also said goodbye to Kassandra who left a few weeks ago, she has moved on to another position to be closer to home, as her little boy starts primary school in September. We wish her and Noah all the best, and we will miss Kassandra in our baby room.
You should all have received letters last week, kindly asking for you to bring a sun hat and sun cream in for your child. We then label and date the sun cream so that we can keep it in our sun cream box to use, ensuring that your child has their own sun cream each day they attend.
Below our some pictures from some of the fun activities we have been getting up to over the past few weeks.
We hope you enjoy looking through them.

Today it is Rosh Hashanah which is part of a two day celebration for Jewish New Year! The babies have had fun painting pictures of 'Ram's horn' (see the pictures below). The Ram's horn is blown to welcome in Rosh Hashanah and the greeting 'Shana tova' is exchanged which means Good Year!
Please keep checking the blog for more updates throughout this month. We are currently in the process of changing our main wall display to a 'Jungle fun' theme! We will also be starting to get ready for Halloween over the next couple of weeks!
Please may we also remind you to ensure that your babies come to nursery with suitable coats and footwear for outdoor play as the weather is getting colder now.

Today in the baby room we have had lots of fun exploring a new activity with the paint! We squirted lots of different colours onto the table and then covered it with cling film. The children were then able to explore the paint and enjoyed the sensory experience of squashing the paint around with their hands and seeing all the different patterns and colours merge together. Sensory activities like this are very important for babies' physical development and exploration skills.

Today we have had a fun day in aid of the Crackerjacks children's trust. Crackerjacks offer help and support to families with children who have disabilities. Thank you to those that have kindly donated for this.
The babies came dressed up in fancy dress, we have had superheroes (in many different creative ways!), fairies, a cat, Minnie mouse, paw patrol and Chewbacca! We decorated digestive biscuits with icing and sprinkles, we also made chocolate rice crispy cakes! The children really loved getting messy and especially enjoyed eating the biscuits and chocolate!
Thank you again for your donations towards this worthy charity!
Hi to all our blog followers!
Welcome to all our new babies who have started over the past couple of weeks. We have been having fun getting to know the babies and parents and are pleased that they are all settling so well!
We would like to wish Chloe (and Ant) a big Congratulations on the birth of their gorgeous and healthy little boy! Mum and baby are doing well!
Last month the children had lots of fun exploring different sensory activities, we will still be providing the babies with different group sensory experiences as this is important for their physical and social development.
This month we are going to pay particular attention to different animals and their sounds! We use our animal flash cards, animal books and our animal figures to develop their interest. We will also be encouraging the babies to colour or paint various animal pictures to go in their files and to send home.
Could we kindly remind you to ensure that your baby comes to nursery with a suitable coat/jacket, for outdoor play, as we are beginning to get some colder days now.

Hello everyone from the baby room.
We have had a super busy few months in cubs welcoming all the new starters. We are glad to say that all the children are settling in well and enjoying their time in nursery.
As the weather has been getting colder we have been doing more autumn based activities. Come and have a look at our lovely art work in our room.
This month we are also starting on our Halloween activities.
We still try and go outside everyday so please do ensure that your child has a warm coat and a hat for going outside in the colder weather.
Hi, welcome to all our new babies who have started in the baby room! We have been having lots of fun getting to know each other!
During the warmer days we have been enjoying water play, promoting the babies to 'splish, splash, splosh' using their hands, toys, water cups and boats! This is great for developing their physical skills and encouraging them to become more confident and comfortable with water activities.
We also had a lovely teddybears picnic in the garden...wearing our wet weather gear as the sun had not been so strong that day! The babies enjoyed engaging in this role play activity using both their imagination and imitating what they have seen at home.
This month we have also created new flash cards to use in our room with the babies. The flash cards are pictures of the different areas, toys and objects that we use daily e.g. high chairs, story books, musical instruments, building blocks etc. We are using these to develop the babies' awareness of routine and familiarity within the baby room which will also be especially good for our new babies too.
Over the next month we will be getting ready for Autumn and the colder weather! Could we please ask that you bring suitable clothing and footwear (coats, wellies hats.) for your baby to wear during our outdoor play times.
We have been very busy in the baby room over the past two months. Firstly, we would like to welcome our new babies who have settled in very well.

The children loved eating their chocolate cakes!! Thank you for all the donations that went towards crack-a-jacks children's trust.
We have also updated our main wall display this month which has the theme of "A day in the park.." we have included pictures brought in by some of the babies having fun in the park. We have linked this in with our outdoor play.
The babies also enjoyed having their photographs taken this month by tempest.
This month we have been getting ready for spring by updating some of our key group wall displays.
We have also been making good use of the sunshine and playing out in the garden where possible - please ensure sun hats and sun cream are brought in to keep us safe and protected. Take a look at our outdoor play pictures on the wall display outside our room. The babies have been loving playing in the outdoor cars and sand pit.
Over the next month we are going to be focusing more on literacy and communication development. We will be putting up a picture alphabet on our velcro board and talking about different letters and sounds.
In our circle times we have been enjoying reading lots of familiar stories to help develop our language skills. We hope this is continued at home to encourage the enjoyment of books.
On the 5th March we enjoyed world book day. Some of us brought in our favourite books from home to share with our friends, and we dressed up as characters from the books.
On the 13th March we had a fun day in the cubs room celebrating Comic Relief. All our babies wore something red and we had lots of fun icing our biscuits with red icing. They tasted really nice too !
We hope all our mummies enjoyed Mother's Day and liked the cards we made for you.
As you can see we have finally finished our under the sea wall display we hope you all like it. We enjoy counting the fish and looking at all the different colours. We are enjoying singing 'We All Live In A Yellow Submarine '!
